Pineview Family Restaurant celebrates 6th Anniversary
IIt's been six years since Pineview Family Restaurant located at 2139 North Union Street, in the Barefoot Landing, Spencerport, started serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to Spencerport and surrounding communities. Opened by the Geronikos Family, George and Helen and George's brother Bobby, Pineview Family Restaurant has enjoyed much success by keeping their approach to business very simple. George said, "We are not just another franchise. Our customers know that you don't have to spend $15-$20 for a plate of food at our restaurant. You get a generous serving at a reasonable price. The food is always consistent and served by a friendly staff."
As a matter of fact, consistency is the normal fare at Pineview Family Restaurant; they employ many of the same staff that they had from the beginning. "We know many of our customers by name and they know their waitress by name too," Helen said. Pineview also offers specials every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In the fall of 2003 they expanded the restaurant to include a banquet facility used to host parties, showers, community meetings, and other social events. They have even hosted three weddings over the past four years. The banquet room is also used on the weekends for overflow diners from the regular restaurant. It can seat 80-100 people and has a full service bar.
Pineview Family Restaurant is not the only restaurant owned by the Geronikos family. They also own Westgate Family Restaurant on Howard Road in Gates. In September 2006 they opened Cafe Geo & Ice Cream Shoppe also on Howard Road in Gates and in January 2007 they purchased Mennis Family Restaurant on Scottsville Road that was formerly owned by Helen's family. "It's a lot of hard work, but it is something that we truly enjoy," says Helen.
In thinking back over the past six years, Bobby said, "We would like to thank the people from Spencerport and the surrounding area for their continued support of our restaurant - without you, we wouldn't be here."
