Ray Bellet edges Hank Baker in close
title match, 190-182; 300 game for Dan Fortunato

In week #9 of the National Bowling Store/Brunswick Senior Shootout at Transit Lanes, Mike O’Grady led the qualifying round with a 755 total on games of 279, 236 and 240.

There was a tie for second high qualifier as Don Voss and Jim Wolf both checked in with 748 - Don with a top game of 267 and Jim with a best effort of 278.

Joe Jack rounded out the 700 sets with his 259-725.

This week’s Peerless Workspace Eliminator jackpot was collected by Matt Marzec who rolled games of 223, 214 and 257 for 694.

Low to qualify for the regular cut was 654, submitted by both Matt Zachowicz and Tony Verdi, while the third and final Super Seniors guaranteed spot went to John Zak at 651.

In the round of 16, Jack sent our top seed O’Grady home early, 246-224. Also in this round, Dan Fortunato sent Voss home to Lockport with a perfect 300 game.

In the Quarter-Finals, Wolf squeaked past Glenn Hauptman, 214-213; Hank Baker sent "300" Fortunato home, 225-214; Ray Bellet blasted Zachowicz, 244-170; and Gary Kinyon sent Jack to Tim Horton’s, 217-187.

In the Semi-Finals, Baker defeated Wolf, 211-184, while Bellet topped Kinyon in a high-scoring match, 265-248.

In the Championship Match, Bellet had just enough left to escape past Baker, 190-182.
