Clover Lanes Sport Classic League

Brant-Clark-LeChase II team claims
first quarter championship in the final frame

After the dust had settled in the final frame October 25 in the Clover Lanes Sport Classic League, the team of Al Brant, Kai Clark and Ray LeChase II were crowned champions of the first quarter. In a 12-8 decision, they topped the team of Steve Mastrosimone, Dan Keenan and Mark McClain.

LeChase II paced the team by rolling a 239 third game for a league leading 647 total. Finishing with the final six strikes, he edged opponent McClain who was second high on the night with 223-644.

Jeff Pealo rolled the third highest series of the evening with 245-628. Pealo went the longest in the 30-Clean Frames Jackpot with 15 clean frames. The jackpot increases to $324 this week and hasn’t been won since the second quarter of last season.

Pat Donaghue found the line for 226-614, Scott Terzo stormed his way to 233-602 and Mastrosimone finished in the Top 6 scores with 219-565.

The league, presented by Clover Lanes and LeChase Construction, competes on 4 different oil patterns, one for each 8-week session. The lane condition used is a 3:1 maximum ratio, which simply means that there is just under three times the amount of oil in the center of the lane, as compared to the outside. Typical house conditions vary between 10:1 and 25:1.

This week, November 1, bowlers will draw for their new teams. A new Sport pattern will be used for the second quarter - 42-feet with medium volume. The previous pattern was 38-feet in length with a medium volume.
