Clover Lanes Sport Classic League

Al Brant registers 246-648 to lead his team
into first place tie; position round this week

Al Brant was the lone 600 shooter in the Clover Lanes Sport Classic League on Thursday, October 18 - and he did it with room to spare. Brant rolled games of 195, 246 and 207 to finish up with a 648 total.

Brant, with teammates Kai Clark and Ray LeChase II, took 14 out of a possible 20 points to move into a first place tie with this week’s position round to decide the winner of the quarter. They will face off against the team comprised of Steve Mastrosimone, Dan Keenan and Mark McClain.

Mike Rose Jr. rolled the second high series of the night with his 212-587. Rose’s 202 average is tops in the league by ten pins.

Gary Brusdal recorded 198-574, the third highest score of the evening.

Deric Houppert started with a 219 game and finished up at 571. For the second consecutive week, Houppert survived the longest in the 30-Clean Frames Jackpot. This time he was clean through the first 12 frames. The jackpot increases to $300 this week.

Mastrosimone remained his consistent self with 204-565 and Chris Lamb finished with 201-202 for 560.

The league, presented by Clover Lanes and LeChase Construction, competes on 4 different oil patterns, one for each 8-week session. The lane condition used is a 3:1 maximum ratio, which simply means that there is just under three times the amount of oil in the center of the lane, as compared to the outside. Typical house conditions vary between 10:1 and 25:1. The current pattern is 38-feet with a medium volume.
